Smithfields is Easley's golf neighborhood, roughly 250 homes built around the 18 hole Smithfields Country Club course that opened in 1984, a few minutes from downtown. The streets carry the names of famous courses, Inverness Way, Muirfield Drive, Players Drive, and the homes along them are mostly traditional brick designs from the mid 1980s through the early 2000s, many overlooking fairways or backing to woods. The homes that sold in the three years through September 2026 were built between 1984 and 2011 and ran from about 1,650 to 4,100 square feet on lots of a third to three quarters of an acre, split evenly between single level and two story plans with a few three story homes on the course. The range in age means a range in condition: some are original, many have been renovated, and a few have been rebuilt.
Because the neighborhood was built by many builders over nearly two decades, no two streets match, and fairway frontage carries a premium within the same block.
Amenities and the club in Smithfields
The club's course, pool, clubhouse, and pro shop are available through membership, which is separate from the neighborhood; residents can live in Smithfields without joining, and many do. The homeowners association itself is modest, about $85 to $100 a year in recent sales, covering the entrance and common areas.
For a buyer, the two numbers to understand are the association dues and the club's membership terms, because they are different obligations. For homes of this age, the inspection items are roof, HVAC, plumbing, windows, and the crawl space, and a renovated home and an original one on the same street can sit well apart in what they should cost.
Getting around from Smithfields
Downtown Easley's shops, restaurants, and the Doodle Trail trailhead are a few minutes away, and US-123 makes a straightforward run into Greenville in about twenty five minutes or to Clemson in about twenty. SC-153 leads to Powdersville's shopping and I-85 in about fifteen minutes.
Homes sold here in the last three years were assigned to Forest Acres Elementary, Richard H. Gettys Middle, and Easley High. Assignments are set by address in the Pickens County School District, and we confirm zoning on any specific home.

Between September 2023 and September 2026, 27 homes closed in Smithfields through the MLS. Setting aside the outliers at each end, they sold from about $336,000 to $920,000.
