The South Carolina Encyclopedia describes Catherine Templeton's role in providing land as the railroad came through rural Pickens County. That history is useful when exploring the older center, but it should not be used to infer the condition or age of a particular home. Ask for the property's own information, especially when additions or renovations are part of its appeal. The town's origins and a house's construction story are related context, not the same record.

The city's February 2026 council packet describes work at Freedom Park, Sarlin Park, sports fields and the Rosewood Center. Current city notices continue to identify Rosewood on East Main Street as a meeting venue. The city's parks department is the place to check present facility use and programs.
Use those named places to plan a visit, while distinguishing an inventory of facilities from a promise about what is open or scheduled today. If a park or sports activity is important to your search, compare the route to its actual entrance from each home. A nearby public destination does not establish a direct walking connection from a residential street.
