Owings

Owings is a historic depot community in northern Laurens County, about five miles southeast of Fountain Inn along the old rail line toward Gray Court. Its depot opened in 1886 on land donated by Francis Rapley Owings, whose family settled the area in 1757, and a general store operated here as early as 1873. Housing today is mostly country homes and acreage tracts rather than platted subdivisions.
